(KCEN) -- Losing a pet can be a very traumatic experience for many people.
But now a Missouri company is offering a service that will keep man's best friend by your side forever.
Eddy's Wildlife Studio in Missouri performs pet preservations, about 120 a year.
But he does admit it can be a difficult business.
That's because it's not taxidermy, it's actually freeze drying the entire pet, minus a few organs and body fat.
And freeze drying a pet is not a short process. Sometimes it takes between eight months to a year to freeze the animal depending on size.
But whether it's large dog, a fat cat or even a bird now your pet can stay with you always.
Eddy says his studio is currently back logged about two months and the cost to freeze dry a pet starts at about $850 and go up to $40,000.
