(KCEN) -- A former Hunt County constable remains in critical condition this morning after fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend and injuring another man over the weekend.
Police say it happened on Saturday. Former Hunt County Constable Anthony Dewayne Lewis shot and killed his former girlfriend and wounded another man in a Rockwall parking lot.
He then led police on a 45-minute car chase, which ended after he ran over a spike strip.
Police say Lewis finally exited the car with a gun and police shot him.
In a recent voter guide, Lewis described himself as a, "veteran law enforcement officer" with 25 years of experience.
