(KCEN) -- A rear axle problem that could cause you to lose control of your car has forced Chrysler to recall nearly 300,000 vehicles.
The recall includes Chrysler's full size and midsize pickup trucks, including Ram 1500 pickups from 2009 through 2012.
It also includes Dodge Dakota pickups from 2009 to 2011, plus the 2009 Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUVs.
The truck recall is the result of a missing adhesive patch that could cause the rear axle pinion to come loose.
That could cause loss of control with little warning.
Owners of these vehicles will be notified by mail and instructed where to take them.
