Investigators Still Not Releasing Cause of Fire That Killed 2 Bryan Firefighters

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Investigators are still not releasing information on what may have caused a fire that injured two firefighters and killed two others in Bryan over the weekend.

The injured firefighters remain in stable condition this morning.

They suffered burns when the Knights of Columbus Hall went up in flames over the weekend.

Investigators spent yesterday sifting through piles of ashes, looking for what caused the deadly fire.

The Bryan Fire Chief says they have a good idea of what happened, but won't release details until the investigation is completed.

Flags flew at half-staff for Lt. Eric Wallace and Lt. Greg Pickard who were killed in that fire.

Department officials say the only other Bryan firefighter to die in the line of duty was at an apartment fire back in 1978.
