(KCEN) -- It's a bizarre scene right out of the movies, only this multi-million-dollar diamond heist happened in real life.

It all took place in Brussels, Belgium.

Eight heavily armed men in police uniforms sped onto an airport runway in police cars and stopped a cargo plane.

That plane was on its way to Switzerland, carrying over $50 million in diamonds.

The masked thieves took just three minutes to grab the uncut jewels.

Then they disappeared.

Investigators believe the heist was an inside job.
