The pentagon plans to notify congress today of its plan to furlough civilian employees.

If sequestration does kick in, more than 750-thousand civilian employees of the defense department would be required to take one day off per week without pay.

That's equivalent of a 20 percent pay cut.

Furlough notices are expected to be sent out on March 23rd...the actual furloughs would begin on April 22nd.
