Tourists staying at a Los Angeles hotel bathed, brushed their teeth and drank water from a tank in which a dead body had been decomposing in.
After several guests at The Cecil Hotel complained of a bad taste in their water, the hotel's maintenance man was sent to check the four rooftop tanks that feed the building's main water supply.
That's when he discovered the body of 21-year-old Elisa Lam at the bottom of a tank.
Lam is a tourist from Vancouver, Canada who checked in to the hotel on January 26th.
In a hotel surveillance video, cameras catch Lam acting unusual in an elevator, looking around the corner as if she was hiding from someone.
Lam disappeared on January 31st.
Detectives are now investigating her mysterious death.
The hotel has not responded for comment.
