Woman's Age Too High For Facebook to Recognize

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- At 104-years-old, a Michigan woman is one of the oldest members of Facebook.

In fact, her granddaughter says her age is too high for the social media site to even understand.

Marguerite is legally blind and is hard of hearing.

But each day her granddaughter, Gail Marlow, reads and responds to all of her grandma's Facebook messages to keep her connected to family and friends.

She's up to 109 friends and has posted 84 pictures.

But when it came to sharing her triple digit age, Facebook wasn't having it.

She's been forced to be 99 online for years.

Marlow said, "I would like to say she's 104 years old on Facebook. And on April 19, in a couple months, she's going to be 105."

That's a number that motivated Marlow to go straight to the top.

She sent message after message to Mark Zuckerberg himself.

Facebook apologized and is working to fix the problem.
