Alabama Couple Arrested Near San Antonio After Chase With Texas State Troopers

(KCEN) -- There's no need to call it a high speed chase.

An Alabama couple is in jail after just a 60 mile per hour chase with troopers.

It happened along Highway 90 west of San Antonio.

Texas State Troopers say a 25-year-old man and 22-year-old woman took off in an SUV when Border Patrol agents tried to search the car at a checkpoint.

Troopers laid out spike strips at three different locations but were unable to stop them.

Eventually the rear tires were shot and a sheriff's deputy ran them off the road.
