The latest Newsletter from SurvivalLife.com and Managing Editor ‘Above Average’ Joe has been sent to readers.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 23, 2013
The most recent Survival Life Digital Newsletter was released by Managing Editor ‘Above Average’ Joe, and it features useful tips on smart and effective preparation techniques.
The Newsletter’s main article focused on Joe’s recent experience with bulk trash day, something he had been looking forward to after missing the last several opportunities to get rid of some old junk.
“This past weekend was bulk trash pickup and as such I spent the majority of Saturday morning pulling out any and all junk that was cluttering my garage and any other storage space I had,” Joe wrote in the article. He saw firsthand how some practical folks used the opportunity to reuse some of the items on the curb, completely free of cost.
“There were some items that were gone before I even made it back with another armful,” Joe added. He asked readers to share their thoughts on recycling unwanted materials, and if they’ve ever found anything of particular interest.
The Survival Tip of the Day section of the Newsletter included information on getting the most out of a typical flashlight.
“Fortunately, one member of our community has made a fantastic "Instructable" that shows you how to get hundreds more hours out of any long run time flashlight with a simple 3 step modification,” Joe wrote.
The rest of the article features the reader’s step-by-step details for fashioning a longer lasting, superior flashlight with some basic tools and easy procedures.
The last portion of the Newsletter is the Practical Prepper article, which includes a review of Joe’s newest survival tool, the Solar Spark lighter. Though a little pricier than Joe had hoped, it was still determined to be a useful piece of survival equipment.
“At the first hint of sunshine I took it out to test it before the Texas weather decided to make another change,” Joe wrote. “As soon as the light focused on the test incense that they send along with the lighter, it began to smolder and smoke.” His attempt was recorded on video, which was embedded in the article.
