Embezzled Jewels Auctioned Off in Fort Worth

(KCEN) -- Jewels from a convicted embezzler were auctioned off yesterday in Fort Worth.

The collection has an estimated value of a half million dollars.

Rita Crundwell was convicted of embezzling more than $50-million over a 20-year period.

She acquired the jewels while working as the city comptroller in Dixon, Illinois.

The proceeds from Crundwell's Collection will go back to the city of Dixon.
