Spectators Injured During Crash at Daytona Speedway

(KCEN) -- Several fans at the Daytona Speedway are sent to the hospital after a wild crash this afternoon.

The wreck happened at the end of today's race and sent cars flipping and an engine tearing through a grandstand fence.

The cars were approaching the finish line when several were bumped and turned sideways into the wall.

One car went airborne into a fence separating spectators from the speedway.

The number of people hurt and extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
