WACO, Texas –
The 20th
ranked Baylor women's golf team is headed to New Orleans to compete in
the 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship, which
runs Sunday through Tuesday at English
Turn Golf and Country Club.
The
three-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Tulane University and is played
at the par-72, 6,105-yard course. Baylor's opening round tee times begin
at 8:45 and continue in nine-minute intervals.
Tee times for Monday's second round begin at 8 a.m., and Tuesday's championship round will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Baylor's
lineup features sophomores Hayley Davis and Emma Carberry and a trio of
freshmen in Lauren Taylor, Laura Lonardi and Annette Lyche. Lyche has
Baylor's first tee time on Sunday
at 8:45
a.m. on the first hole. The rest of the Lady Bears' lineup tees off in
nine-minute intervals following Lyche, with Lonardi at 8:54 a.m., Taylor
at 9:03 a.m., Carberry at 9:12 a.m. and Davis anchoring the team at
9:21 a.m.
The
Lady Bears will compete against 17 other schools, including four the
nation's top-five ranked teams. Tournament-host Tulane is joined by No. 5
Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, No. 4 Duke, No.
3 Florida, LSU, Ohio State, No. 14 Oklahoma State, Oregon, No. 19
Purdue, Texas, No. 21 Texas A&M, UCLA, No. 1 USC and UTSA. Live

The
Lady Bears are coming off of a sixth-place finish in the Northrop
Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif. Hayley Davis finished
a team-best tied for ninth place. Emma Carberry
came in one stroke behind Davis and tied for 13th place overall.
