Two Police Officers Killed in California Shootout

(KCEN) -- Two police officers are dead after a flurry of shots are fired during a sexual assault investigation in California.

The gunshots were caught on cell phone camera during the shootout yesterday.

The suspect in the sexual assault fired at cops when they approached a home in Santa Cruz, California.

A short time later the suspect was shot and killed by police during a chase.

Schools in the area were put on lock down during the incident.
