
Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball
team placed four players on the American Southwest Conference All-West
Division Teams released today.
The Cru had a one First Team selection, one Second Team selection and
placed one player on the West Division All-Freshman Team. UMHB also
claimed the West Division Newcomer of the Year and West Division
Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.
Taylor Tucker was voted ASC
West Division Newcomer of the Year after averaging team-bests with 16.8
points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Tucker, a sophomore forward from
A&M Consolidated High School, also was voted to the All-West
Division First Team and the West Division All-Defensive Team. She added
28 blocked shots, 31 steals and 20 assists during the season.
Jovana
Miles was named to the All-West Division Second Team and joined Tucker
on the West Division All-Defensive Team. Miles, a junior post from
Luling High School, averaged 10.1 Points and 10.0 rebounds per contest.
She also added 31 steals, 10 blocked shots and 19 assists.
Kourtney
Bevers was voted to the West Division All-Freshman Team. Bevers, a
freshman guard from Liberty Hill High School, averaged 7.1 points and
3.9 rebounds per game. She had 45 assists, 27 steals and 11 blocked
shots.
Brandy Dittert was named West Division Sportsmanship
Athlete of the Year. Dittert, a senior forward from Katy Cinco Ranch
High School, averaged 4.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game as the lone
senior on the UMHB roster this season.
The Cru women finished the
season with a 7-18 overall record. UMHB advanced to the ASC
Championship Tournament for the seventh time in the last eight seasons
before falling to Louisiana College in the quarterfinals.
