Boeing announced on Thursday it has proposed a permanent fix to get its troubled 787 Dreamliner back in the sky.
All 50 of the airplanes in service have been grounded since mid-January after a battery fire abroad a 787 domestic flight caused a emergency landing in Japan.
Boeing proposed its fix to the FAA last Friday and Boeing CEO Ray Conner told reporters in Tokyo on Thursday that it is a permanent solution, not an interim one.
