Two-Day Festival Held in Austin toCelebrate TX Independence

(KCEN) -- On Saturday Texas celebrated its independence and the party is still going on.

Independence Day is now a state holiday celebrated with merriment and parades.

The two-day festival continues today in a state park in the capital of Austin.

On march second in 1836 during the Texas revolution delegates worked overnight to write a Declaration of Independence, and the Republic of Texas was born.
