(KCEN) -- An Austin man dies this morning while swimming in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.
Race organizers believe the 46-year-old suffered a heart attack shortly after he entered the San Francisco Bay for the 1.5 mile swim.
The race's director says his water safety team rescued the man from the water and gave him CPR but were unable to revive him.
He is the first person to die in the history of the race.
