The Dallas Cowboys placed the franchise
tag on linebacker Anthony Spencer for the second consecutive year.
Spencer earned his first Pro Bowl berth following the 2012 season as an
injury replacement after leading the team in tackles
with a career-best 106 tackles. He was second on the team in sacks
(career-high 11.0), tackles for loss (8.0), quarterback pressures (26)
and forced fumbles (two).
The Dallas Cowboys released the following players:
CB Vince Agnew
LB Brashton Satele
S Gerald Sensabaugh
The Dallas Cowboys re-signed restricted free agent Phil Costa on March 1, 2013.
Costa originally signed with the club as an undrafted free agent out of
Maryland in 2010. He played four games as a rookie before earning the
starting
nod at center in 2011, where he went on to start all 16 games for the
club. He was slated as the starter again in 2012, but only started three
games in an injury-riddled season.
