Moody Grass Fire Only 25 Percent Contained

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- A massive grassfire that started more than 24 hours ago in Bell County is still not contained.

The blaze broke out last night in Iron Bridge Park in Moody.

Investigators say it started when a campfire got out of control.

Around 4 p.m. yesterday the fire became out of control because of high winds.

That fire is now just 25 percent contained.

And nearly 200 acres are now scorched.

Units from Bell County, Gatesville, Flat, Moffat and Morgan's Point are currently fighting the flames.

Authorities are concerned that high winds forecasted for Monday will re-ignite the blaze.

No injuries have been reported.
