(KCEN) -- A door-to-door salesman is being hailed a hero after he rescued a woman from a burning home in Garland.
Eighteen-year-old Kaeriel Evans, who has down syndrome, was inside by herself when the fire started last Friday.
Corey Anderson just happened to be going door-to-door, selling home fire alarm systems.
He noticed the smoke coming from the house, heard Evans screaming and broke a window to get her out.
Anderson said, "I heard somebody saying, 'Help me, help me,' so I pushed over an entertainment center and kind of went kind of in there and saw the girl and I told her, 'Drop down and come to me,' and she did. And I got her out."
Evans was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation and minor burns, but is expected to be OK.
