About 600 thousand Americans commute more than 50 miles a day to get to work from home.
That's according to a new study from the Census Bureau.
The average daily commute is 25.5 minutes and one in four commuters leave their home counties for work.
Commuters who travel 90 or more minutes or 50 miles are considered "megacommuters."
These commuters make up less than one percent of U.S. workers.
The longest commute by the greatest number of megacommuters is form San Bernardino County to Los Angeles County, with an average of 104.2 minutes or 68 miles.
The average megacommuter is more likely to be male, older, married and higher-paid than the average worker.
