(KCEN) -- Heroic actions by a local sheriff's deputy saved the life of an elderly man this weekend.
And the whole thing was caught on the officer's dash camera.
Washington County Sheriff's Deputies arrived to find a home covered in flames.
Deputy Art Senteno ran inside the home, looking for anyone who may be trapped.
Senteno calls those couple of minutes the longest of his life.
He said, "There was stuff falling from the roof. How I didn't get burned, I don't know. I couldn't see a foot-and-half in front of me. I had a bright light. I crouched down and made my way toward the voice."
That voice was 77-year-old Charles Bazar.
Senteno was also able to rescue a dog in the home.
He was then taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire department believes the fire was caused by a wood stove that had been sitting on the front porch.
