(KCEN) -- A group representing survivors of sexual abuse by priests released their so-called Dirty Dozen list today.
That's a list is of Cardinals the group says would be the worst candidates to replace Pope Benedict.
The Survivors' Network of Those Abused by Priests, or SNAP, says the list is based on the Cardinals' handling of sex abuse cases.
The Vatican says the list will not influence the selection of the next pope.
Vatican Spokesperson Reverend Thomas Rosica said, "We are well aware of the positions of SNAP and the positions that you have seen in the press, but it isn't really up to SNAP, that organization, to determine who should participate or not in the conclave."
The Cardinals named on SNAP's list have not yet responded.
Meanwhile there is no rush to choose the next pope.
After two meetings on Monday and another yesterday, the Cardinals took time for private talks and research today.
