Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golfer Brady Purdom
has been named American Southwest Conference Men's Golfer of the Week
for the week ending March 5th.
Purdom, a freshman from Friendswood High School, fired a 76-78=154 to
finish second individually at the Mississippi College Invitational
earlier this week. He finished just one stroke off the pace set by
individual champion Cameron Thomas of Division II Delta State. Purdom's
opening round 76 tied the lowest score of the first day and his
performance helped lead the UMHB men to a third place team finish. He
becomes the fourth different Cru golfer to take ASC Men's Golfer of the
Week honors this season, joining Justin Judkins, Robby Schimmels and
Pablo Mena Medrano.
The UMHB men will return to action with the Texas Lutheran Spring Invitational. That tournament will be played March 11th and 12th at Vaaler Creek Golf Course in Blanco.
