(KCEN) --  A Midland hospital is covering the bill for all patients treated in a deadly train accident last year, which killed four veterans.

A train smashed into a flatbed truck that was carrying veterans during a parade honoring their service.

Midland Memorial Hospital says they chose to take on the cost of medical bills for the 17 patients they received that night.

The hospital says the bills totaled approximately $400,000.
