(KCEN) -- Thousands of teachers, students and other education staffers from across Texas descended upon the steps of the state capitol in protest yesterday.
The rally, held in Austin, was put on by the Texas American Federation of Teachers.
Many teachers and parents are worried about the impact the 2011 legislature's five billion dollars in state cuts to education funding will have on students.
And some schools have already seen class sizes increase and the number of educators decrease.
Educators are using their spring break to gather in Austin and learn more about what the legislature plans for schools.
