(KCEN) -- If you're looking forward to a tax refund this year, have you thought about how you will spend it?

Millions of Americans will soon be getting a tax refund from Uncle Sam.

And according to a TD Ameritrade survey, 47-percent of those expecting to get a refund plan to bulk up their savings account, while 44 percent plan to use the refund to pay down their debt.

About 28 percent of Americans will spend at least some money on necessities and 15 percent plan to splurge on something discretionary.
