(KCEN) -- A Texas icon that went down in flames is coming back better and even bigger.

Big Tex will stand three feet taller when he's rebuilt this year.

That's after Tex fell to an electrical fire that temporarily ended his 60-year reign.

State fair representatives are also rebuilding the area around the giant cowboy.

They say it is the most photographed spot in Texas, at least for the 24 days the fair is in town.
