(KCEN) --  A man accused of raping two teens in Dallas in 2009 is back behind bars after three years on the run.

Jose Rico was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Mexico earlier this week.

After being accused of raping a 12 and 14 year-old Rico was deported by mistake.

Detectives say they never gave up on their promise to the victims he would be caught.

According to Detective Vidal Olivarez of the Dallas Police Department, "When he was deported I had to tell them that and we had to go and get him back and I promised that I would someday somehow try to manage to do that and we did."
