Air Force Trainer Sentenced to Prison for Raping Former Student

(KCEN) -- An Air Force trainer was sentenced to four years in prison for raping a former student.

SSGT Eddy Soto was an 11-year veteran stationed at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio.

After pleading guilty to five other counts related to sexual crimes, Soto claimed he was innocent of the rape charge.

But a military judge found him guilty Saturday and immediately gave him a dishonorable discharge and four years in prison.

Soto is just one of 32 Lackland instructors accused of sexual misconduct.

Six of those instructors have since been convicted.
