(KCEN) -- A Houston teenager is now in custody after shooting two police officers during a standoff on Wednesday.

The two officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call.

When they arrived, they were told a 17-year-old was trying to kill himself.

The family was attempting to subdue the man, but he broke free and shot both officers.

A male officer was hit in the chest and was taken by helicopter to a Houston hospital.

The other officer, a female, was hit in the arm.

Both are in stable condition.
