(KCEN) -- About 34,000 Buicks and Cadillacs are being recalled.
General Motors says it's because of a problem with the automatic transmissions.
The recall involves 2013 Buick Lacrosse full-size cars and 2013 Cadillac SRX Crossover SUVs.
GM says a software problem can cause the transmissions in the vehicles to unexpectedly shift into sport mode.
That can override any slowing effect and increase the risk of a crash.
GM will reprogram the transmission free of charge.
