(KCEN) -- Some people are afraid of spiders, some afraid of mice or rats.
And some people take a fear of snakes to a whole new level.
In fact, one Texas woman accidentally destroyed her own home trying to kill a snake.
It happened in the east Texas town of Liberty Eylau, near the Louisiana border.
Deputy Randall Baggett with the Bowie County Sheriff's Department explained how this happened.
"While cleaning up, she saw snake, threw gasoline on the snake, lit the snake on fire. The snake went into the brush pile and the brush pile caught the home on fire," he said.
A neighboring home was also damaged by the fire.
