Soldiers May No Longer Receive Danger Pay

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Soldiers serving in the Middle East may soon see less money.

The Pentagon is thinking about ending what is know as "Danger Pay".

That's because of the recent increase in violence in the region including Egypt and the Persian Gulf.

The cuts are projected to trim the Pentagon's budget by $120-million a year.

"Imminent Danger Pay" earns troops an extra $225 a month.

There's been no definite decision yet.

Pay for troops serving in Afghanistan is not affected.
