Victims of SSG Robert Bales' Mass Shooting Demand his Execution

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Staff Sergeant Robert Bales will be in court tomorrow, but today survivors and relatives of the 16 Afghan villagers he's on trial for killing called for his execution

Bales, a decorated veteran of four combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, admitted to walking off his base in Kandahar Province last March and killing civilians in their homes.

He pleaded guilty to premeditated murder and other charges under a deal that spared him from the death penalty.

Bales faces life in prison.

A military judge will decide if and when he will be eligible for parole during proceedings set to begin tomorrow.

Survivors and relatives of the victim say Bales should have been tried in Kandahar, and they don't accept his sentence.
