Officer Shot in Head During San Antonio Standoff

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- A police officer is shot in the head during a standoff in San Antonio.

It all started when cops were called out to a family disturbance this morning at the Super 8 Motel.

When they got there, the suspect shot through the door, hitting the eight-year veteran in the head.

That officer was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The motel is located near two of San Antonio's top tourist spots, the Alamo and the San Antonio Riverwalk.
