West Niles Claims One Victim in Dallas County

(KCEN) -- Is it a sign of worse things to come?

The West Nile Virus claimed its first victim in Dallas County on Tuesday.

That patient was diagnosed with West Nile Neroinvasive Disease which is the most severe form of West Nile.

In 2012, there were 19 deaths in Dallas County and nearly 400 human cases of West Nile.

So far, there are no human cases of the virus in McLennan or Bell County.
