WACO, Texas – Baylor fans can get their first look at Bears softball next Saturday
with "Meet the Team." Baylor will play a pair of 5-inning intrasquad
scrimmages beginning at 9:45 a.m. giving fans the opportunity to meet
the Bears at intermission between the two games.
The Bears are coming off a 39-15 season in 2013 where the team reached the NCAA Regional Tournament. Head Coach Glenn Moore said Saturday's event will give his staff an opportunity to look at different options as they prepare for the spring.
"The first scrimmage always takes some of the pressure off the kids, and we will move several of them around to get different looks," Moore said. "It will be a typical fall scrimmage where we'll begin to get a feel for what we're going to be doing."
Moore said that the goal for the pitching staff is to get five starters 12 outs apiece.
Players will introduce themselves to spectators between games; concessions will be available and the games will be treated like a game atmosphere.
