Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, Speaks Out About Accident With Model S Car

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) - Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to his blog this week to defuse a fiery situation about shocking online images from an accident involving its Model S car.

He said a metal piece from a tractor trailer caused a fire as it went under the car and that the cause of the fire is not a problem with the car's design.

Musk also tried to reassure his readers saying, "There should be absolutely zero doubt that it is safer to power a car with a battery than a large tank of highly flammable liquid."

The stock dropped more than 10% from the news, but is up 434% so far this year.

Elon Musk is also the CEO of SpaceX which has a testing facility in McGregor.
