Teddy Davenport Captured

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- A massive manhunt for the man who allegedly ran down two game wardens this weekend is over.

Teddy Davenport, 44, is in custody at Limestone County Jail. He was captured in Freestone County two miles southeast of Teague on FM 1451.

Davenport is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and one misdemeanor charge of evading arrest after a pursuit early Saturday.

Police say Davenport was caught burglarizing a home on Cottonwood Creek Road by two Texas Game Wardens.

Davenport allegedly ran from the officers, crashing into the game warden's vehicle and injuring both officers inside before speeding off down FM 342.

Today Davenport was caught at a home in Teague.

He first ran from cops but they were finally able to catch up to him.

Earlier this year, Davenport injured two Mart officers and was sentenced to just six months probation.
