Father of Stowaway Kid Speaks Out

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- The father of that nine year old who snuck his way on a plane from Minneapolis to Las Vegas is speaking out.

The dad says he has repeatedly tried and failed to get help for his son's behavior problems.

He held a news conference on Wednesday with a sweatshirt wrapped around his face to conceal his identity.

The father says the family thought the boy had gone out to do a household chore last Thursday when he disappeared.

Investigators are trying to figure out how the boy somehow slipped past security and got on a Delta plane.

According to his father, the boy was not in school the day he hopped the flight because he'd been suspended for fighting.

(KCEN) – They told him to wish big… and boy did he. On Monday, just one day after his eighth birthday, Antonio Laguna finally got his Make a Wish. “Lots of waiting,” he laughed just moments before getting to see his greenhouse and orchard. “I’m so excited. It’s going to be fun.” And it was. With the plants in place, his tools waiting, and the red ribbon up, Antonio walked outside to see his dream picking farm. “It’s so amazing,” he giggled standing in his greenhouse. “I can’t believe so many ...More >>
