Intoxicated Bus Driver Arrested In Rosebud-Lott ISD

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- A bus driver picked up students while driving under the influence Monday morning.

The incident occurred in the Rosebud-Lott ISD. The bus had 40-50 passengers ranging in age from elementary to high school.

One student aboard the bus texted her mother around 7:00 a.m. and told her mom the bus driver was driving recklessly.

The mother contacted police who then stopped the bus in Rosebud. The driver, Ralph Ucciferro, was given a breathalyzer test and was found to be over the legal limit.

The driver was cuffed and escorted to the Fall County hospital where he submitted to a blood test. He was then booked into Falls County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated with a child 15 years old or younger, a state jail felony. A second driver was called in to deliver the students to school. No students were hurt during the incident.

Rosebud-Lott superintendent Anthony Price says the driver has been with the district for at least 15 years and will face disciplinary actions, most likely termination.
