Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team held its ground in both major national polls this week as the Cru remained #2 in the nation in the American Football Coaches Association's Top 25. UMHB is ranked #3 in the country in the D3football.com Top 25 for the eighth straight week.

The Cru grabbed three first place votes and 1,004 total points to hold steady at #2 in this week's AFCA Top 25 Poll. Mount Union is ranked #1 with 39 first place votes and 1,047 total points. Linfield College is ranked third with 964 total points. UMHB is the only American Southwest Conference program mentioned in the AFCA poll this week.

The Cru held steady at #3 in the country in the D3football.com Top 25 Poll. UMHB took three first place votes and 591 total points in that ranking. Mount Union claimed 15 first place votes and 607 total points for the #1 spot and Linfield College is second with seven first-place votes and 598 total points. UMHB is also the only ASC program mentioned in the D3football.com Top 25 this week.

"We have expectations for each of our players and how they perform each week," Cru Head Coach Pete Fredenburg said. "Our players understand that and come out ready to work each week. I think we have some things going really well for us right now and we need to do everything we can to keep that momentum going and get better each week."

UMHB is 9-0 overall and has a 5-0 mark in American Southwest Conference play on the season following a 65-10 victory over East Texas Baptist University last Saturday in Belton. UMHB will return to action with a 1:00 PM road game against Mississippi College (4-5, 4-1 ASC) this Saturday in Clinton, Mississippi. That game will close out the regular season for the Cru. UMHB has already clinched the ASC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships and is guaranteed at least a share of a ninth straight conference crown.
