Veterans Honored During Killeen Parade

Posted: Updated:
KILLEEN, TX -

(KCEN) – Downtown Killeen was taken over by a sea of red, white and blue on Monday as the Central Texas Veterans Day Parade made its way through the streets.

Taking part in the parade were several area high school bands and JROTC students, along with community groups, current service men and women, and veterans.

"It brings a great sense of pride and honor," retired veteran Tom Guzman said. "I wish all of America could support us more than one day a year, but this one day is enough to get us to the next year."

Guzman has been coming to the parade for more about 20 years, and he's even marched in it. He says it's a day that helps continue the legacy of his grandfather, father, and dozens of other family members who have sacrificed so much for this country.

As the parade wound through downtown, young and old waved flags proudly to give thanks for those who served.
