Boil Water Notice

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- A boil water notice has been issued for customers of the Bell-Milam-Falls WSC.

The advisory only affects customers residing in the area north of the Little River, south of FM 485, east of Hunt Hill Road and west of Buckholts.

A break in the water line on FM 2184 is the cause for the advisory issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may also purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil, officials will notify customers that the water is safe for normal consumption.

If you have questions regarding this matter, contact Robert Jekel at 1-800-826-4322.

To speak to TCEQ, call 512-239-4691.
