(KCEN) -- Three Waco residents were arrested after using counterfeit money to buy items off of Craigslist.

In June 2013, Waco detectives began investigating cases where suspects were using counterfeit money to buy items. Twenty-four cases like these have been reported since the initial investigation.

Investigation showed that suspects were buying items from people selling them off of Craigslist. They found that most of the items bought were electronics.

Officials said that the suspects would make contact with the victim, set up the location to see the items, and then purchase the items with the counterfeit money.

Twenty-nine-year-old Tony Glenn Fisher, 27-year-old Samantha Williams-Karcher, and 41-year-old Dennis Glenn Bridger were arrested and charged for engaging in an organized crime.

Officials say that additional arrests will be made in these cases.
