Former Hospital Exec Faces Child Porn Charge

Posted: Updated:

(KXAS) -- A former executive at Children's Medical Center was indicted by a federal grand jury on child pornography charges last week, but the hospital said he had no contact with patients while he worked there.

Philip Branson, 60, was arrested by FBI agents in San Antonio, where he was heading the expansion of that city's convention center.

The indictment accused him of using a computer in Plano, where he used to live, to send or receive four pornographic images of young girls over the Internet in May 2012.

Children's Medical Center released a statement confirming he worked in the design and construction department from April 2008 to Sept., 2010.

"He was responsible for new construction and space renovations and did not have any patient contact," the statement said. "Since his departure in 2010, he has had no affiliation with us."

After leaving the hospital, Branson worked on a $302 million expansion project at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport before he was hired in San Antonio to head the expansion of that city's convention center.

DFW Airport spokesman David Magana said Branson was an airport contractor and did not hold a high-level management position.

Branson's attorney, Johnny Lanzillo of Richardson, declined to comment.
