McLennan County District Clerk Warns Residents About Jury Duty Scam

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) --- The McLennan County District Clerks Office issued a statement warning residents of a potential jury duty scam.

The scam, similar to the one Bell County residents have been informed about by the Sheriff's department, involves a person calling people in McLennan County and telling them there is a warrant being issued for their arrest for failing to appear for jury duty.

The District Clerks office says no one from McLennan County Sheriff's Department would collect any monies nor arrest anyone for failing to appear for jury duty, unless they had appeared in front of a judge first.

Please contact the District Clerks Office at 254.757.5054 if you have received a call from anyone pertaining to this matter.
