(KCEN) -- Baylor University is planning to honor the construction worker who died last month while working on the WalterUmphrey Pedestrian Bridge.

55-year-old Jose Suarez drowned on January 28th after a lift he was harnessed to slid off a barge and into the Brazos River.

Baylor President Ken Starr said "the Baylor family continues to keep Mr. Suarez's family, his co-workers and all those whom he loved in our deepest prayers."

The school announced over the weekend that a plaque honoring Suarez would be placed on the bridge.
